In September 2025, I’ll be embarking on a journey that represents much more than a physical challenge—it’s a test of resilience, hope, and determination. Over 5 days, I will be running from the north to the south coast of Iceland, a land known for its stunning landscapes, harsh terrain and unpredictable weather. This endeavour is not just about covering the distance, but about proving that there is life after a brain tumour diagnosis and treatment.

For me, this run is deeply personal. After facing the debilitating side effects of a brain tumour, I want to continue to share the message that feats like this are still possible, and that life’s adventures don’t have to end with a diagnosis. By doing this, I aim to inspire others who are facing similar challenges to keep pushing forward, to keep dreaming, and to never give up!

Once again, I’m running to support The Beyond Recovery Project, a non profit organisation, which I set up to support the physical and mental health and wellbeing of those living with the impact of this diagnosis.
As we’ve been unable to secure sponsorship, this supported adventure has morphed into an unsupported challenge. I’ll be carrying everything I need for the entire route and sleeping in a bivvy.
I’ll be setting off from Akureyri, after dipping my hand in the sea, then heading out over the green hilly landscape, over arduous, barren, volcanic desert of the Icelandic highlands before reaching a coastal inlet on the south coast – where I’ll dip my hand in the water once again!
As for what to expect, I’ve been warned about sinkholes, extreme weather, storm force winds and temperatures that can range anywhere between -5C to 15C, in the space of 15 minutes. There can be sunshine, rain, hail and snow, and I’ve no doubt there will be a few precarious river crossings, as waterways are prone to flooding. Apparently, midges might also be a problem – who knew?! But this is why I love adventure and endurance events – having to be prepared for the unexpected, and when it doesn’t go to plan, having to problem solve on the go!

Throughout my journey, I’ll be documenting my progress, sharing the highs and lows, and highlighting the beauty and challenges of Iceland’s diverse terrains. I’ll be updating my blog and social media channels regularly, so you can follow along and join me in this adventure.
I’m calling on you to support me in this challenge—whether through donations, spreading the word, or simply sending words of encouragement. Together, we can make a difference and show that life after a brain tumour is not just about survival but about thriving too.

I’m still looking for sponsors to join me in making this an amazing opportunity to highlight the difficulties faced by many individuals living with a life changing diagnosis, whilst showing them that with the right support and mindset, anything is possible.
I’ve been there. I know what it’s like to have to learn to walk and balance again, and to continue to live with the hidden and often misunderstood impact of this diagnosis and its treatment.
I’m looking for brands that believe adventure is for anyone and everyone – and those who share my vision that adventure should be accessible.
I have a proven track record of planning an adventure and taking on endurance challenges.
By choosing to to align your brand with this me and this challenge, you are choosing to change lives for the better. To find out more about how you can support, drop me a message using the contact form below.
